Clay is fabulously versatile and can facilitate all kinds of self-expression. This class serves as a great introduction to the material. The techniques demonstrated are flexible for students interested in either (or both!) functional and sculptural forms.
This eight-week class features instructor demonstrations, hands-on learning, and available Open Studio time outside of regularly scheduled classes. Students will learn how to pinch, coil, and slab-build forms with an emphasis on establishing solid construction skills. The last two classes will be devoted to enriching surfaces with glazes, underglazes, and engobes.
Tools and materials for this class are included with registration.
