**Dairy Barn Members at the Individual Level or higher enjoy a 10% Discount**
For Ages 16+
Join teaching artist, Alix Rondy, on a guided adventure with brush and canvas. Participants will create a unique 11”x 14" painting based on a common theme.
This month's theme will explore the strange and colorful world of Picasso portraits! His paintings did not stray from reality simply to create chaos- his abstractions gave us insights into new ways of seeing what is in front of us. Students will briefly study some works by Picasso, mainly his red beret portraits, and create their own original portraits - based on his style. Feel free to bring a photo to work off if you wish!
Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Neon Cow Bar will have wine, and beer available for purchase by participants over age 21. (Outside alcohol prohibited.)

with Heather Macali
**Dairy Barn Members at the Individual Level or higher enjoy a 10% Discount**
For Ages 16+
In this full-day workshop, participants will learn how to thread and weave on a basic frame loom to create a color-and-weave cloth. This technique uses contrasting colors to produce dynamic pattern effects through simple weave structures. Additional techniques will include using a pick-up stick, a string heddle, and the option of twining.
During the workshop, each participant will complete one woven piece (14" x 16"). The finished cloth can be used as a placemat or as one side of a tote bag. If making a tote, a second matching panel can be woven after the workshop.
Materials provided by Heather: Frame loom 15" x 18", beater, tapestry comb, 2 shuttles, 16"dowel rod, use of a pick up stick, and printed weaving drafts.
Materials required of students:
Students should purchase two tubes of 100% cotton yarn (16/8). Please select two colors with strong contrast (for example: black and white, or light pink and hunter green) to achieve a clear pattern definition.
