**Dairy Barn Members at the Individual Level or higher enjoy a 10% Discount**
For Ages 14+ (Those under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult)
Improvisation and creativity are at the forefront of this class, featuring both printmaking and the fiber arts. Print & Patch students will learn different methods of textile surface design, carve their own printmaking blocks, naturally dye fabrics with indigo, and print patterned fabric.
In the latter part of this 8-week class, classmates are invited to share the fabric they created with each other, as they begin construction of a patchwork or mini-quilt project which can take any shape. Participants will take home handmade creations that celebrate community and the renewable spirit of patchwork.
This class is well suited for those without previous print or textile experience, as well as makers with knowledge of some or both methods looking for a new way to approach fiber arts. All materials and tools are provided for participants, including printmaking blocks, fabric, indigo dye, and sewing tools.

Teens and tweens will dive into the exciting world of alternative photography techniques, exploring the artistic possibilities of light, shadow, and color under the guidance of Teaching Artist Jessica Held.
Students will journey through time, learning about cyanotype photograms, a historic photo printing process that uses light-sensitive chemicals to capture intricate, detailed images. After mastering this classic technique, they'll experiment with SolarFast dyes on fabric, a modern process that uses solar energy to print colorful designs onto textiles.
Students can choose their preferred design method—whether it’s drawing, photography, or digital tools—to create vibrant, permanent prints on fabric. Bandanas will serve as their experimental canvas, but participants are also welcome to bring their own apparel items to personalize and print.
Photo fun meets fashion! By the end of this class, students will have gained hands-on experience with these creative techniques, leaving with their own personalized photograms and printed textiles. This workshop is perfect for young artists eager to explore photography and design in a fun, imaginative environment!
