with Erica Magnus
**Dairy Barn Members at the Individual Level or higher enjoy a 10% Discount**
For Ages 16+
Before “snapshots” from the early box cameras all the way up to our present day phone cameras, people drew portraits of family members and strangers in their small pocket size sketchpads.
Now you can learn these essentials of portraiture in this informative and accessible day-long workshop, suited for both beginners and those with more experience.
Instructor-led exercises and demonstrations begin the day, with students practicing the basic forms and proportions of the human head. A live model will be present during the second half of the workshop for the ultimate opportunity to hone your craft with life drawing. With personalized instructor feedback, you'll sharpen your skills and gain confidence in rendering life-like portraits. Students bring their own drawing pad (11” x 14” 80 lb. weight paper or higher). All other materials for this class are provided. Students will work with pencil, various charcoals, and other dry black mediums.
