Edvard Munch's "The Scream" is an icon of modern art and students in this class will take inspiration from the painting's compelling distortion of form. Working with colorful oil pastels, students will transfer drawings to clay, allowing their image to be similarly stretched and moved by hand with a tactile material.

Delve into small-scale watercolor painting with Teaching Artist, Danette Pratt. This class will focus on springtime inspiration and create colorful insect forms. Selecting colors and examining characteristic insect features are especially accessible when working on a small scale.

This class is both, a great introduction to the media and suitable for those with prior experience. Students will explore new skills, build confidence with the material, and create a collection of small and miniature artworks that can become small focal points used in sketchbooks, art journals, stationery, and cards or framed as miniature paintings.
